Welcome to the sixth edition of LGC Assure Insights, a free digital newsletter to support your food safety management journey. In this edition I wanted to share some thoughts on third-party food safety management programmes as this coincides with the release of the latest issue of the BRCGS Global Standard Food Safety. I will be taking you on a trip down memory lane to remind you how these programmes came about, their benefits and a thought about their future value to the industry. But I can’t start an edition of the newsletter without an overview of some of the issues and incidents happening across the world.
